Rising Strong™

Rising Strong™ is based on the simple physics of vulnerability: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. This is a curriculum about what it takes to get back up, and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

This group is based on the work of Dr. Brené Brown Ph.D, LMSW, a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past 16 years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame. Her groundbreaking research has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN, and Oprah Winfrey's Super Soul Sunday. Brené's work is transforming individual, marriages, families, and the work place, and it is powerful because it is tapping into what we were all profoundly and deeply created for...love and belonging. Dr. Brené Brown is the author of Dare To Lead (2018), Braving the Wilderness (2017), Rising Strong (2015), Daring Greatly (2012), The Gifts of Imperfection (2010), and I Thought It Was Just Me ( 2007).

This is an adult (20 yrs +) 8-week group that runs twice a year. Call us (815-973-0999) or email (info@conscioushealingcounseling.com) for more information.

Brené Brown studies human connection -- our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. A talk to share.

Shame is an unspoken epidemic, the secret behind many forms of broken behavior. Brené Brown, whose earlier talk on vulnerability became a viral hit, explores what can happen when people confront their shame head-on. Her own humor, humanity and vulnerability shine through every word.
