In 4th grade, an interest inventory suggested a “counselor” as a probable career. The seed was planted, took hold, and blossomed without wavering. Being here is the fulfillment of that 4th grader’s daydreaming, and opportunity to share in other’s dreams as well. The gifts clients offer through their vulnerability and growth gives immense purpose to my life.

“The lotus flower blooms most beautifully from the deepest and thickest mud.”

Alison holds a master’s degree from the University of Saint Thomas and has a strong passion for serving others through therapy. She had a goal from a young age to counsel others in times of distress, and now fulfills this aspiration by supporting her community with an eclectic and collaborative approach.

As every client is unique, she draws from several frameworks, including to fit particular client needs. She is passionate about AIR Network therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other trauma modalities. All of which she utilizes to help clients reprocess past traumatic experiences & memories. She also completed Level 1 & 2 of Gottman’s Relational Therapy Model, to improve the myriad of relationships within her clients’ lives. Alison strives for a collaborative relationship using non-judgmental validation, humor, accountability, and appropriate challenges to improve one’s sense of self and reach goals best fitting their personal experiences. Her strengths include mood disorders, anxiety, adjustment disorders & life transitions, grief work, trauma, parenting stressors, parents of special needs children, self-esteem, family/relational conflicts, women’s issues, sexuality, LGBTQ+ support, emotion regulation, and stress management. Alison enjoys working with teens (15+) and adults, to build empowerment and coping skills that will help clients well into the future they create.

While it is her belief professional training in theoretical models and interventions help create healing action, it is more so the values of authenticity, compassion, empathy, humility, and humor which allow us to walk alongside others within their healing. Even though she never takes herself too seriously, it is the greatest honor to create a therapeutic space to serve others.

When outside the therapy space, you are most likely to find her chasing down physical challenges, daydreaming on a trail somewhere, hiding in the forest, hanging out with her husband & three kids, or trying to get her dogs to stop barking. She lives her life in constant pursuit of adventure and savoring delicious food.
